WBR - Where The Rivers AND Folks Meet For FUN!

The White Buffalo Resort is a unique place in the heart of the Ozarks.  Our 3/4 mile of White River frontage at the mouth of the Buffalo River provides the most scenic landscapes imaginable and the best diversified fishing on the river.  Our rural park like setting invites you to relax and enjoy the best of the Ozarks.  The air is clear and the stars are bright and too numerous to count.  Watchable wildlife abounds, from the many species of birds that live in or migrate through Arkansas to deer, bobcat, mink and beaver along the rivers.  The Bald Eagles, Great Blue Herons and Kingfishers are among the best fishermen on the rivers; it's fun to watch them catch their dinner.

Come to where the White and the Buffalo Rivers meet . . .

The White Buffalo Resort is located in North Central Arkansas, just south of Mountain Home, on state road 126 S in the small community of Buffalo City.

While there were almost 2,000 people here at the turn of  the century, the resort and a half dozen houses are all that remain today.  Our rural location at the confluence of the White and Buffalo Rivers affords the best of both worlds:  the quiet serenity of the mountains and rivers, yet close to the conveniences of Mountain Home and nearby attractions.  The majestic 600' bluffs, abundant wildlife and spectacular sunsets are a bonus!

Experience world-famous trout fishing on the White River with a guided float trip down the river. Our licensed, friendly guides are expert fishermen and familiar with the river. You will be transported down river in a traditional, flat-bottomed jonboat while your guide shows you how to fish the best areas of the White River, sharing some entertaining fish stories and local history along the way.  If you like, your guide will cook your morning catch, with all the fixings, over a riverbank campfire. Create your own fish tales to tell the folks back home.  This is an adventure you won't want to miss!

This BIG ONE didn't get away . . .

The White Buffalo Resort has some of the prettiest and most productive fishing in the area. Fly fishers love wading in our crystal clear waters to fish the shoals and gravel bars.  A long rock jetty, reaching to the mouth of the Buffalo River, is here at our point. Downstream from here are some long gravel bars and islands to fish from.  Just a mile upriver, accessible by river taxi, is Buffalo Shoals -- one of the longest rock shoals on the White River.   The serene and peaceful setting contributes to the wonderful fishing you'll experience at Buffalo Shoals whether fishing on your own or with one of our knowledgeable guides.

Fish for our famous rainbow, cutthroat and brown trout on the White River or for smallmouth bass on the Buffalo River from one of our 20' jonboats with motor.  Or try a canoe float for miles of cool water and beautiful scenery, fishing and picnicking along the way.

Bring a camera to capture the special highlights of your trip. Hike to the top of our 660' limestone bluffs for miles-wide views of both the White and Buffalo Rivers.

It just don't get any better than this.

The well-defined ridge trail offers scenic vistas along the way, while the top of the bluffs affords an extraordinary picnic site and photo opportunities galore.

After exploring this serene wilderness, take the back-of-the-mountain trail to swim in the warm water of the Buffalo River before returning to the resort.

Our swimming pool, deck and pavilion area are enjoyed by all, but especially the children. From simply floating and sunning to water basketball games, the pool is a popular activity for all.  Adjacent to the pool is a small playground for young children.

The kids Love the pool!

The resort also offers volleyball, horseshoes, tetherball, a large meadow for ball games, kites or frisbee and a covered pavilion with tables for board games. cards or dominoes.  There are campfire sing-a-longs, July 4th fireworks and other unscheduled fun events.

Area attractions include historic landmarks, caves and caverns, Bull Shoals Dam, a National Fish Hatchery, horseback riding, golf, tennis, ferry ride, the Ozark Heritage Arts Center & Museum, the Ozark Folk Center, authentic Ozark crafts, antique and  specialty shops, restaurants, museums, music shows and more . . .

Have fun, relax and experience the outdoors with us at the White Buffalo Resort.  Give us a call - we look forward to meeting you and helping you plan a memorable trip.
